Netgear is a manufacturer of computer hardware and computer networking equipment, founded in 1996. On 8th January 1996, the company was incorporated as a subsidiary of Bay Networks, and provides networking solutions for homes and small businesses. The company was owned by Nortel and became independent form Nortel in February 2002.

Netgear sells via a sales channel network that includes online retailers, traditional retailers, direct market resellers, broadband service providers, and value added resellers in Europe, North America, Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific. The main retail competitors for Netgear are D-Link and Linksys.

Netgear TA612V Router
This is a four in one device contains, router, Voice over IP (VoIP) phone adapter, firewall and LAN port. The broadband voice adapter provides convergent voice services to the office or home networking. The router is connected to Internet using a WAN Ethernet port through a broadband modem.
